Pondapple Maintenance Association
Unofficial Monthly Board Meeting Notes
August, 2005
-
Our landscaper has cleaned up the entrance area, removing dead
plants. We will ask
the arborist to do the next stage of ficus trimming earlier than
the proposed January date, so that more light will be available,
before doing any large-scale planting. We will
keep the elephant ear plants. Bianca will see to the cleaning of the
large rocks. Darlene will contact a landscape designer to get a plan
for the area.
-
Our current Financial Statement as prepared by Benchmark was viewed and approved. This statement will be available on request by calling Benchmark, 954-344-5353.
-
Our liability insurance was renewed with State Farm.
-
The lawyers for our former landscaper requested 3 years of minutes, as related to his company. The relevant minutes have been turned over to them. J & J claims we owe him money; we believe we have paid what was owed. We have offered him a settlement amount of $2500 to drop the suit, but there has been no response, so the case will be sent for the required mediation.
-
The former palette of pre-approved house colors has been scrapped and another is being developed. In the meantime, all painting must be approved by the beautification committee. The new palette should be available soon. There was a spirited discussion of acceptable colors.
-
Someone(s) has started dumping on Powerline Road adjacent to the neighborhood. We will ask the City of Boca to post signs prohibiting dumping, and then to enforce them. Also in this area there are fences which are broken, with ficus trees growing through them. The ficus will need to be removed or trimmed before fences can be replaced. Via Verde Association may have some responsibility to respond to these problems, along with Pondapple. Darlene will check on this.
-
Towing cars illegally parked: New signs will soon be installed. We are contracting with Bonnie's Towing, 561-347-1840, at 160 W. Camino Real #166, Boca, 33482. Benchmark has been attaching orange stickers to violators, and keeping records. Habitual (3 times) violators will soon be towed.
-
Some new asphalt shingle roofs have been installed without approval of the ARB. Homeowners will be notified to change their roof covering according to our rules.
-
Please report non-functioning streetlights to Benchmark (including the pole numbers as well as the location). They will try to get all the lights fixed on one service call, which is cheaper than one or two at a time.
-
Our neighborhood directory is almost complete and will be distributed soon.
