Pondapple Maintenance Association
Unofficial Monthly Board Meeting Notes
February 16, 2006
-
Hackberry HOA has sent us a letter saying that they will no longer pay
for the electricity for the lights at our entrance. This was the only
contribution that Hackberry has been making towards the upkeep of the
entrance, while our association has paid for the landscaping, the
paving, the lights and maintenance of the entrance all these years.
All board members expressed outrage at Hackberry's unwillingness to
contribute in this small way to fund a nice-looking entrance which
benefits their homes as much as it does ours. Hackberry has
instructed FPL to turn off the lights at the end of the month.

Benchmark Property Management cancelled a Feb. 10 meeting and has
refused to take or return calls regarding our records and finances
under their management. Based on the records they received, our
accountants believe that Benchmark credited our accounts for $3,500
without actually making a corresponding deposit. We will continue to
try to contact Benchmark and come to a fair settlement. If not, we
will be forced to involve the state attorney and the Dept. of Business
and Professional Regulation.
-
There was discussion of a commercial truck, A-1 Locksmith, which is
parking overnight in a driveway, in violation of our bylaws. The
owner will be asked to park in his garage, or face the possibility
of towing.
-
Most residents have been mailing in their monthly payments to the new
address. Residents who have not sent payments since
December will be contacted directly.
-
Many residents have asked when we will fix up the front entrance. We
are now ready to do so! For now, the ficus trees on either side will
remain. Following a discussion of the landscaping proposal and a
drawing of the middle front entrance, we will pay about $14,000 in
several installments, to have a Silver Bismark Palm planted in the
center island, with Canary Island Date Palms closer to each end, plus
Queen Emma Crinum Lilies at each end, and some arboricola and ilex
shrubs and some flowers around the outside.

Our annual meeting will be held at 7 pm in the Verde Elementary School cafeteria on Tuesday, April 25, 2006.
