Pondapple Maintenance Association
Unofficial Monthly Board Meeting Notes
November 17, 2004
-
Main purpose of the meeting was to resolve problems with landscaping
and irrigation: Board members expressed dissatisfaction with J & J's
lack of effort so far in the post-hurricane cleaning up of
neighborhood, which was approved Nov. 4. After quite some discussion,
we will notify Benchmark to give J & J their notice, but pay them
through the end of November and get an interim service while we
solicit bids for the continuing service. We will notify Hackberry and
ask if they are interested in doing this together, for continuity of
landscaping quality.
-
Sprinkler system: Bidding officially opened for a new contract.
-
Signs: Number of signs to be limited, with strategic placement of
moped and pet signs in the neighborhood.
-
Benchmark's performance: Discussion indicated shortcomings and
failure to respond to our requests. Duke offered to discuss problems
with Bill Sugarman. Reaction time to problems is too long;
Mr. Spilman may be spreading himself too thin. We need more
accountability.
-
City code enforcement will help us with some upkeep problems. City
will not permit hazardous conditions to continue.
-
Electrical work: We need another electrician on call. Current one,
recommended by Benchmark, is too expensive.
-
Beautification: Martine Silver suggested that we purchase plants to
enhance the front entrance. She and others will volunteer their labor
to install plants. $500 allotted for plants.
-
The resident with the broken dolphin fountain refused payment from the
HOA, saying he only wanted it from the tree-cutting company which had
done the damage.
